The lecture programme is open to anyone with a pre-hospital care interest. The purpose is to facilitate discussion and debate on topics of interest in the pre-hospital field.

'Everest Marathon Medicine’

As well as being a GP, Tim was the Chief Medical officer for the Everest Marathon. He has an interest in sports medicine and some of you may know him as his other role as an EMICS doctor in the local area of Nottingham.

'Blackouts'

Dr Justin Cooke

Justin is a Consultant Cardiologist and will provide an educational session on the latest evidence on blackouts and syncopal episodes. He will suggest how these complex and varied episodes can be diagnosed and managed.

'Disaster Medicine'

Professor Anthony Redmond OBE

Professor Redmond is Professor of International Emergency Medicine and Chairman of UK-Med and will give us the latest on disaster medicine and the international response he forms part of. He has travelled the world to disasters and will give the group an insight into this interesting branch of medicine.

Professor Guy Rutty, Forensic Pathologist, will explore the importance of considering what
actually happened and the need to approach incidents with an open mind and what you
initially observe or are told may not be what actually happened.

‘Paediatric Trauma Updates’

The latest updates to APLS have been published. This changes what we should be doing
in the pre-hospital arena. One of the APLS update panel will provide us with the latest
guidance for paediatric trauma.

‘The Coroner’s Perspective’

Mr Robert Hunter, HM Coroner for North Derbyshire, will present a session on what might
